RPG Backtrack: Episode 30 - The Mighty Mighty Magics

Hunting dragons while drunk is not a wise proposition, but a certain series allowed it once upon a time, with the risk of eradication as a penalty for foolish or unlucky behavior. That series had many moments good and bad, but more of the former, as we'll tell you.
Anyone surprised at Might & Magic didn't look at the title.

I'm no where near down with the podcast but. . .if your sister's name "Eebee" or something like that, Becky, or is she using "Eevee" as in the Pokemon, as a handle?

OK, I gotta ask. Why have you guys stopped putting the publish date on the files? It's playing havoc with my feed, putting the new episodes near the bottom of the list because they don't have a published date on them.

I see what you mean. It's a formatting issue, whatever feed reader you have doesn't read dates in the format we changed to, so Mike is going to reset the dates to the old format. Works fine in our iTunes feed, but I guess not in all.

It's not her birth name, but she goes by Evvie. It's kind of a tribute to our grandmother, whose name was Evelyn.

No other series veterans? No one to say that Might & Magic IX is seriously undervalued and all the badmouthing totally unwarranted?

I haven't played a M&M since Mandate of Heaven. Was fun, though. Mostly I just play HoMM now. Some day I want to go back and run through the series.

I remember having to play IV 3 times. The first time there was bug that replaced the bottom inventory slot of the 1st character with new items once everyone's inventory was full, which for me replaced the Xeen Slayer. 2nd time I played it to completion, but once I got darkside it wouldn't recognize my saves, so I started over a 3rd time. This time I did everything, except for the manual lookup to leave Vertigo.

Now I wonder if I can dig up the saves, and if they are compatible with the gog version....
