Devil Survivor 2 Announced For Nintendo DS. This Is Not a Typo.

Yes, you are reading that right, Devil Survivor 2 for the DS just before Devil Survivor on the 3DS. There was no blue police box involved, move along citizen.

It is indeed strange that this is coming for the DS, but I'm very happy about it any rate. Don't plan to get a 3DS any time soon, and I'm a huge Devil Survivor fan, so this is the perfect scenario for me. Guess I've gotta gear up and ask Atlus for one more localization miracle! :P

This being an Atlus game and me being in Europe makes releasing on the DS easily the correct decision, should I decide I want to get it

    Meh! DS should die soon.
Never buy a game published by D3 Publisher that is not WKCII. They cheated on their fans by releasing a game that they didn't support not even for a year and they released a rushed translation.

I wonder if I should just wait and see if there'll be a 3DS version of this game, too. I love the first game, but I'd rather not buy the sequel twice. I'm already going to do that with the original.

Not the first time this has happened. Wasn't Mega Man Battle Network 6 released on GBA after the special DS version of MMBN 5?
So long & thanks for all the fish!

I find it no surprise that this is going to the DS. It will take quite a while for the 3DS to reach its full sales potential, so the DS market will be much more significant for a year at the very least.

That said, I would be very, very surprised if they announced Etrian Odyssey 4 for anything other than the 3DS.

Darn, I never got a chance to reserve this bit of news

Doesn't mean I won't write about it anyway. The new villain group's name scheme just demands an explanation.

That's what they said about the PS1 after the PS2 came out. Surprised them when it survived until 2004. And the GBA survived until 2008. Never underestimate the survivability rate of any videogame handheld or console.

He said it should die soon, not that it would.

Well, it's pretty clear why they're doing this: If they release Devil Survivor 2 on the DS, they can make a "remake" of it on the 3DS, the way they're doing with the first game. It's like cruise control for software development.

Indeed, good thing I'm about as interested in the SMT series as I am in new Bratz or Petz releases.

The story sounds less interesting than the original game, but either way, cant wait

Definite purchase, but definitely not high up on my to play list as I haven't even started the first one. Even so, SMT is fun to collect since the games aren't too common.
    Currently playing:
    Final Fantasy II (not IV)
    Final Fantasy XIII-2
