Getting this. Very glad my $25 Amazon credit towards a 3DS game before end of June isn't going to waste.
EDIT: My my, look who's handling the porting. Curious.

So long & thanks for all the fish!
Everyone who haven't played this game yet you need to buy this because this game was the reason why most people got the N64 other the SM64. It's a great a game and this is the definitive version.
Never buy a game published by D3 Publisher that is not WKCII. They cheated on their fans by releasing a game that they didn't support not even for a year and they released a rushed translation.
I've played this game countless times, but I still am getting this game day one as it is one of my favorite games of all time. This will be a system seller to many people I am sure. I also would not be surprised if Nintendo does a system bundle with the game.
EDIT: Just saw your edit shoptroll and I have to say I find this information intriguing. The core game hasn't been touched I am sure. I am completely fine with a different company handling the port, but if they ruin something I will never forgive them.

Feel free to add me!
I wonder about something- If it says "playable in 2D" does it mean its gonna work on a DSLite as well? Or is it a 3DS exclusive?
**edit**
NVM that lol. I just saw the 3DS game card and it looks nothing the same. ^^"
It's a new system. People need to stop treating it like a 3d DS. It is more powerful, has better graphics, a different top screen size, an extra input (the analog stick). It's not just a 3D DS. It may not be an enormous jump forward, but the graphical jump between GBA and DS wasn't really either.
On another note, I cannot wait to play this game again for the 6th or 7th time! lol
Check out my fledgling youtube channel. It's small now, but if I get more subscribers I will start doing more with it, so stay tuned!

I like how it's Koichi Ishii's company doing the port of Zelda, I was wondering what happened to him after the last Mana games. I know the whole World of Mana project wasn't very well handled, but I still have full faith he'll do this game justice.
Been dying to get my hands on Zelda 64 since my roommate stole my Master Quest GC disc when he moved out ;(

I am psyched after this info! Now I just need them to give us a few more actual good games before I will be given enough reason to buy a 3DS.
I'm just waiting to see how reliant a lot of the games are on the 3D effect. Last time I tried it in a store with SFIV I got a headache.
Nintendo's Wii gives me horrible arm/wristaches.
Nintendo's 3DS gives me eye pain.
Oh, Nintendo, why must I endure such pain to enjoy your games?
I think I'm the only person alive who never felt the magic in OoT. In fact OoT and SM64 were two of the main reasons why I switched to PS1 after the SNES era. Then as now I loved 2D and sprites and the 3D worlds just ruined Mario and Zelda for me with the blocky edges, plain textures and to my fingers unwieldy controls. I gave them both a second go on the Virtual Console but meh, at that point there were more impressive games out like SMG, Wind Waker and TP and I just wasn't able to motivate myself to play more than halfway through.
Oh well I'm just making a short story long so suffice to say I won't be getting OoT 3D.
Currently playing:
Final Fantasy II (not IV)
Final Fantasy XIII-2
All in all OoT was a pretty good game.
However I prefer ALttP over any other Zelda title
Call me nostalgic but I still prefer the first one on the NES, ALttP being a close second. I'd love to see another Zelda game in the style of the second one though, just not as impossibly hard.

I must be the only person who prefers the 3D games. Maybe I just played the old ones too much in my youth
Dude, 3DS has a slider to turn off the effect (or adjust it), which means no games will be able to require it as far as I know. It's nice to have options (unlike the Wii issue).

They've hinted that there might be some new content in addition to the redesigned Water Temple. Which would be on par with past refreshes like Super Mario 64 DS and the Super Mario Advance series.
The 3D games are fine. They have their place although I think the additional dimension adds a level of complexity you don't have to deal with in the 2D games. I've only played Twilight Princess and I started OoT recently (but got distracted by other games), and my only real complaint so far with the 3D games is that the pacing is vastly different compared to the 2D ones.
I think this is why the box art the accompanied the announcement listed that the game can be played in 2D and 3D. I suspect there might be a handful of games that will require the 3D feature (not sure what that adds to the experience) in the long term, but for now it's 100% optional. Plus games tend to run at a higher framerate with the 3D turned off.Dude, 3DS has a slider to turn off the effect (or adjust it), which means no games will be able to require it as far as I know. Edit: This is a response to Nightfox. I could've sworn I added the poster's quote before I replied O_o
I don't think it was as much him to be honest. I suspect that after Kingdom Hearts came out, SE probably pressured the guy to change up his game style because it was also action-rpg-oriented (though nothing at all like KH), and that's probably why he went for such odd approaches like the dungeon crawler and... whatever you'd call the PS2 game.
I love OOT. One of my all time favorite titles. But I'm not all that excited for this since it's just a port... It's great for those who never played it but it's been available on the Nintendo Marketplace for quite some time. I'm just not understanding why people are hyping this up so much. The 3D is cool and all but this isn't something that will prompt me to buy the system.

I can confirm that the graphics look better on the actual 3DS than they do in the screenshots. The characters in particular look nice and smooth.
