"Liara, move forward. Liara, shoot that bad guy in the face. Liara, do the Macarena. No? OK, fine, just checking."

Congratulations MS. You've finally integrated bot voice commands which has been possible in games for almost a decade on the PC.
So long & thanks for all the fish!

Now you can speak aloud lines that have little relation to what your character is actually going to say!

I'd enjoy telling the character to do various inappropriate things to the other cast just for fun.

However this is a good use of the Microphone. You don't have to use it if you don't want to/don't have it but it's there if ya do.

So can you do this with the regular headset on the 360, or do you need a Kinect unit?

So far we only know that you can do it with Kinect. Hopefully Microsoft didn't moneyhat BioWare to prevent the feature from being useable with a regular headset.

Phoenix Wright did this in 2004 with the DS microphone.

Okay, so there was no AI response, but you can still scream your Objections into the DS.

Which in the second game, right near the end, you had to do. I remember the first time I found out about that feature I was sitting in the barracks one weekend playing it. A buddy fo mine was borrowing my internet and I was rolling in gigglefits from the game. And third day (I picked it up friday and finished Sunday) I found out about that and started yelling ym objections and hold its.

Microsoft segment was disappointing for me.... but this is no bad.
Never buy a game published by D3 Publisher that is not WKCII. They cheated on their fans by releasing a game that they didn't support not even for a year and they released a rushed translation.

It's kinda funny though. The engine has had support for voice commands since 2003ish. It shouldn't take 8 years and a $150 add-on for someone to tap into it on the console side.

I can't believe development time was wasted on this.

That's the big Kinect feature? Something you can accomplish with a microphone? o_O

I think they win the award for worst conference in the history of E3.

At least now we've got a good guess at why the game got delayed!

    No.

You're forgetting Nintendo's conferences 2-3 years ago with Wii Music.

EDIT: Or Sega's Saturn announcement which prompted Sony just announcing the PSX price the next day and then walking off the stage.

Possibly. March 6th is the new date (wasn't that the DA2 date this year?). Could be because of this. Wouldn't put it past MS to step up and start delaying multiplatform games. Certification must be getting bored of delaying everyone's patches and DLC.

Remember when games were only $50 and no DLC to antagonize over?
