They need to start over with the localizations which is why it will never complete and it will never happen.
Xseed's version of 2nd chapter will come out this year.

I'm surprised it hasn't been done sooner. I mean the joking, not the smartphone thing.
The mobile thing, if it happens, will likely break the game up into chapters even smaller than the game itself does.

What makes you say that? I don't think they've confirmed platforms yet, but there's a handful of iOS apps that are at least 1 GB in size. UMD is 1.8 GB so with a little bit of compression and resolution magic I'm sure they can cram things in.

Not a tech limitation as much as a business decision. I think they could easily release the game in chunks and make it easier to translate.

As someone who completed the First Chapter on PSP, it's really hard for me to get excited about the idea of the second chapter on iOS or Android, also, I'd really like to have the translation from XSEED, as I really felt what they did with the first game was amazing. If I knew for sure it was going to be released on PSP or Vita I'd pass on the Smartphone adaptions entirely.
When exactly will it be released to the iPhone?
