Anything that lets me play in English, easily.

Until then I will have to make do with looking at my two artbooks from the series, which are also awesome but not quite the same. :P

Anything. Or, "Shut up and take my money!" in meme-speak.
Hopefully it comes out at some point.

If Ys is successful on Steam, I think it'll be the obvious choice. I don't care as long as I can play it, but I sincerely doubt we'll see a PSP release. With the Vita on the shelves and the dual-UMD nature of the game making it difficult to do a digital release, the PC version seems like it's the only viable option.

For me the answer has to be "anyway that will let me play it in English", be it a digital or physical release. Or even some kind of crazy release that beams the game into our brains.

    Comedy 3DS option.

Though I voted for "whatever lets me play it in English".

Something feels a little off about this poll question, I don't know.

Obviously I'll take Trails 2 anyway I can get it, so that seems the ideal choice. However, the platform I would prefer to play it on is the PSP. Nice to be able to take it anywhere, including comfier spots than my my PC area. Not sure it would look as good on a larger screen either.

With PC being a likely outlet for Trails 2, I'm a little less concerned now that I'm getting a better monitor.

I'm one of the bad guys who would buy Trails 2 on the PSP, but not the PC. I liked Trails 1, but slow-paced JRPGs struggle to hold my attention unless I'm really in the right mood. On a handheld, I can watch TV or a DVD while playing and it keeps me from getting bored. I've played many DS and PSP games that wouldn't have held my attention if they were on a console or PC. Or I suppose I could buy a TV for the hoarders room where my desktop is, just so I can watch stuff while playing slow games.
The lesson here is that dreams inevitably lead to hideous implosions.

Why? It's the original platform for the games

Half of my concern stemmed from my trashy monitor, which is fortunately being addressed. The other half is just from past experience, I guess. Certain games like Persona 2 PSP are easier to look at with the smaller screen/resolution of the PSP than their PS1 counterpart. Not talking about the small aesthetic differences in menu and character portraits either. All in all its not much of an issue to me. You're probably right and there is no detectable difference or perhaps Trails looks even prettier on the PC.

Eh, Apples and Oranges, remember PS1 games aren't exactly running at a great screen resolution. I can tell you from my experience playing the PSP and PC versions of Oath in Felghana and Ys VI, Falcom knows (or knew since they don't develop on PC anymore) how to make a decent looking PC game.

I would prefer to play it on a portable device since I never play on the PC (my hubby is an internet junkie and spends his free time on there while I play video games). DS or 3DS SVP.

You could get a second PC, like a laptop. Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter is a PC game published in 2006, so it should run on any laptop you purchase today.

I actually got an email recently from Xseed about Trails in the Sky. I emailed them telling them that I bought Oath in Felghana on steam and really hoped that they would be releasing Trails in the Sky on steam as well, here is the response I got.

    Hello James,

Thank you for purchasing Ys: The Oath in Felghana. We will be honored to work on as many Falcom titles as possible, though of course each title needs to make sense for both Falcom and us before it can happen.

Appreciate your support, and hopefully we can bring you more of the Falcom goodness you desire to Steam.

Wow, they included all those links as well? Talk about an overkill email.

Heh, I'm pretty sure that's his automatic signature rather than part of the actual response, my work one contains about the same number.
