Loved playing Lufia 2. Ancient cave was a really fun distraction from the main game. I got to lv 97 of the ancient cave, forgot to heal after a battle and died in the next battle. 5 hours wasted because of carelessness. Haven't tried the ancient cave since.

That's a shame. Those are the only two Lufia games I've played (though admittedly, RoL was bad). Was that DS remake localized to NA? I don't remember seeing it and I liked TLR enough to follow the Lufia series.

Oh yeah, they remade it as an action game right? That may be why I passed on it.

I played Lufia at some point way back when. I remember two distinct things. First, I loved that the battle system didn't completely remove the map from view. It's not often, but I hate being disoriented after a battle, especially when I'm already lost.

The other thing I remember is the insane nesting of tasks. It's been too long, but I think at one point there is a trio of towns and a tower. And there's something in each town you need to do, one of which involves building a bridge, which required tools, which required doing a favor, which probably required in doing 2 other things...
