RPG Backtrack: Episode 85 - Mr. Sinistral

Once upon a time, a land with rearranging geography had the little problem that a quartet of titans wanted to rule. Saving the planet from that menace isn't always worthwhile, though.
    Forgot to mention the submarine...
It's not what he's eating, but what's eating him that makes it ... sort of interesting.

Loved playing Lufia 2. Ancient cave was a really fun distraction from the main game. I got to lv 97 of the ancient cave, forgot to heal after a battle and died in the next battle. 5 hours wasted because of carelessness. Haven't tried the ancient cave since.

Does this episode cover The Legend Returns on GBC and Ruins of Lore on GBA?

Only briefly. It also covers a bit of the DS remake of the second game.

That's a shame. Those are the only two Lufia games I've played (though admittedly, RoL was bad). Was that DS remake localized to NA? I don't remember seeing it and I liked TLR enough to follow the Lufia series.

The DS remake was localized by Natsume

Oh yeah, they remade it as an action game right? That may be why I passed on it.

I played Lufia at some point way back when. I remember two distinct things. First, I loved that the battle system didn't completely remove the map from view. It's not often, but I hate being disoriented after a battle, especially when I'm already lost.

The other thing I remember is the insane nesting of tasks. It's been too long, but I think at one point there is a trio of towns and a tower. And there's something in each town you need to do, one of which involves building a bridge, which required tools, which required doing a favor, which probably required in doing 2 other things...
