    Shining Force Neo - Retroview

There was a time when the term "Shining Force" meant a fun tactical title was being presented. Sega decided to end that time with this game, but the name is the least of this thing's problems.
    Hot stuff, coming your way!
It's not what he's eating, but what's eating him that makes it ... sort of interesting.

This review speaks so much truth that it's saddening.

It would have been that way for me, but then Shining Force EXA made me forgive them.

God damn in retrospect this game was terrible, but I played the hell out of it. It was Shining Force, and I HAD to play it. I probably sunk over 100 hours into it. The review is absolutely spot on though.

"I remember back when FF9 was coming out. People were rejoicing because it was actually a fantasy game and not a sci-fi game like 7 and 8. It's especially hilarious given modern context, with everyone wanking themselves to dehydration at the thought of an FF7 remake." - Masterchief

Despite its shortcomings, I played this one to death. I also agree EXA was much improved. As for Shining Tears, I wish they just left the JPN voices in. Same with Neo, actually.
