    Another Character Returns

Square Enix has announced yet another familiar face will be making an appearance in Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII. In addition, players can receive an introduction to the gameplay with a demonstration from the Wildlands and of course glimpse a few more of Lightning's new costumes.

Alright, I wasn't sure about the gameplay, but now I can say with certainty that I like this. I like this a lot. It feels like the perfect combination of ATB and ARPG.

I was thinking the same thing. This battle system looks incredibly fun.
What I have seen and done to achieve my position defies belief. What I am capable of and will be party to in order to retain it would chill your soul.

The game looks decent enough from what i've seen, but the music really worries me.

Hey. Lightning's outfit changes recall the Dresssphere system. Nice.

That didn't surprise me too much, considering the multiple outfits they mentioned in the past made me think of that system being put in here. It's also kind of funny if you think about it, since XIII's battle system was just a variation of X-2's.

I am so confused. The battle system here looks to be more slow-paced; you're only controlling a single character, but you have total control; and the outfit changing to fit your role is such an FFX-2 borrowing. In short, this looks so much more appealing to me than the one used in the original FFXIII. And yet, doesn't this seem to be moving backward toward a more traditional action/ RPG feel? Square Enix, I have officially given up trying to figure out what you are trying to do. Are you just trying to get back all the fans you lost with the original FFXIII? I don't get it.

It's SE, never guess what they're doing, they always mix things up.

Honestly, at least this game appears to have its own vision. Too much about XIII-2 was, "we're going to fix all this stuff you guys complained about" and the result was a bit of a muddled mess.

This video is the turning point for me; I've been on the fence for a while on this one. I'm definitely getting it now, as that combat looks like way too much fun!
